Beat Those Calories with K-Beats!

Were you one of the many who have made some sort of “Oplan Balik Alindog” fitness-related New Year resolution? If yes, how has it been after a month has passed? It’s February and we know what that means—Valentine’s Day is fast approaching! Which also means that some of you might be wanting to slip perfectly into that pretty dress you bought at that Christmas sale to impress your date (or to get one!). Whatever your reasons are, it is important to keep ourselves fit and healthy by eating moderately and exercising regularly. And the KStreetManila team believed that a bit dash of KPop in our exercising habits would be fun!

So check out the list below and enjoy working out to the tune of some of the best K-beats!

INFINITE – “The Chaser”

Wouldn’t it be a great motivation to run as if you are being chased by seven hot men (or the other way around)? Kidding aside, the lyrics speaks of determination to chase after a lost love. Whether we desire to lose weight or to gain endurance, we must have the same determination to reach our goals!

BTS – “Run”

With no pun intended (or probably there actually is), BTS’ “Run” has a good tempo ideal for those who want to take their running up a notch. The boys in the music video may be running aimlessly, but if keep our eyes focused on what we want to achieve. We surely are heading towards the right direction.

EXO – “Overdose”

What makes this song engaging for running are the background claps throughout the whole song. You won’t be needing to call a doctor if you know to keep yourself fit.

Big Bang – “Fantastic Baby”

Big Bang sure loves to party with their songs, but “Fantastic Baby” can also work fantastic as a cardio workout. The song starts off slowly builds up to the chorus, helping you transition from short warm-up to full run.

2NE1 – “I Am the Best”

Of course, we can’t leave out Big Bang’s little sisters (or can we still call them that way?)! 2NE1 is a prime KPop group for girl power, and “I am the Best” surely reminds us that we can be the best in our endeavors–which in this case is to be fit!

SHINee – “Dream Girl”

Be SHINee’s or someone else’s dream girl as you run to the voices of these five gorgeous men. There is not a dull moment in the song and you’ll be surprised at how long you’ve been running with this in your ears.

Girls’ Generation – “I Got a Boy”

We continue on with more SM Entertainment artists with the lovely ladies of Girls’ Generation. Although the tempo constantly changes throughout the song, this actually could still work well with you if you feel that there is a need to slow down a bit. Like they say, you can always “bring it back to 140” when you feel that you have already recovered.

Teen Top – “Rocking”

Teen Top’s “Rocking” will definitely keep you rocking your workout with probably their most upbeat release yet. The intensity of this song will keep you up and running, even if you want to stop! If you’re not much of a runner, then go ahead and study the choreography! It is great for developing your endurance and toning your butt and thighs.

TVXQ – “Rising Sun”

Throwing in a bit of TVXQ nostalgia, “Rising Sun” is also a song that constantly changes tempos. So whenever you are already out of breath, continue walking to the beat and get back on track.

SISTAR – “Touch My Body”

When it comes to fitness, we cannot leave out Sistar. We absolutely cannot! They have probably the best bodies in the KPop scene, and they are the ultimate #fitnessgoals.

So what’s in your workout or running playlist? Share the type of workout that you do and the playlist that goes along with it! Sooner or later, exercising will come naturally for you and you will be able to reach your fitness goal.
