Korean zombie movie ‘Train to Busan’ to be shown in the Philippines

Korean blockbuster zombie apocalypse movie “Train to Busan” is officially coming to Philippine cinemas on September 1, 2016!

This was according to Movies Philippines’ report on August 19, 2016. Here is the list of cinemas where the movie shall be screened.

“Train to Busan” or 부산행 (“Busanhaeng”) which stars Gong Yoo (Coffee Prince), Jung Yumi (Family Ties and The Crucible), and Ma Dongseok (The Neighbor and The Unjust) premiered in the Midnight Screenings section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival on May 13, 2016. It was then publicly released on July 20, 2016 and has become a box office hit since then, topping over 10 million viewers by August 7. It overtook the previous highest box office record of “A Violent Prosecutor” which had 9.7 million viewers. Here is the story-line taken from IMDb.com:

Sok-woo and his daughter Soo-ahn are boarding the KTX, a fast train that shall bring them from Seoul to Busan. But during their journey, the train is overrun by zombies which kill several of the train staff and other passengers.While the KTX is shooting towards Busan, the passengers have to fight for their naked lives against the zombies.


The movie has also been released in other countries including the United States, Canada, Singapore, Thailand, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Indonesia, and Taiwan, among many others.

“Train to Busan” is produced by Redpeter Film, presented by Next Entertainment World, and shall be distributed locally by Rafaella Films. Watch the official Philippine trailer below:
