Candidates for the Miss Korea Philippines preliminaries

The candidates were given the opportunity to answer queries from the press.

Candidate # 1 Jung Jinryeong believes that amidst the trend of K-beauty, finding one’s unique inner beauty is just as important, if not more.

When it comes to experiencing both Filipino and Korean cultures, Candidate # 2 Cho Wonhee has the best of both worlds. She has been in the Philippines since 1996, having had the opportunity to attend local schools and immerse in the Filipino culture while growing up in a distinctly Korean household.

When asked which idol groups they like, Candidate # 8 Oh Danbi expresses that she used to not be updated with K-Pop. That changed when her Filipino friends introduced her to BTS, and now she finds the boys cute as well.

For her beauty queen icon, Candidate # 10 Choi Jongyoun chose Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo because of her wisdom.

Candidate # 11 Park Seohyun wants to change how Koreans see the country. Many Koreans, including her family and friends, think that the Philippines is unsafe. Having been in the Philippines for just 4 months, she doesn’t see it that way. For her, becoming Miss Korea Philippines will give her the opportunity to shatter the stereotypes and prejudices of the country.

Candidate # 12 Oh Hanna loves Filipino food, especially sinigang after going out with her friends. She wishes she could eat adobo and pancit canton once her diet is over!

The final pageant date will be on May 30, 2017. Do you already have your bets for Miss Korea Philippines? Tell us in the comments section below.
