K-Hits sa Tag-Init: Your K-Pop Summer Playlist

Yes, we feel you. The heat has definitely been getting into our heads and our bodies that we refuse to move away from the aircon or electric fan (in number 3). But as much as we hate the heat, summer is the perfect season to travel. The Philippines itself boasts about its beautiful beaches and breathtaking views anyway.

So where are you heading this summer? Whether you’ll be rocking that bod in the beach or going on a road trip with friends, beat the heat with KStreetManila’s summer playlist:

I’m Serious

A few seconds into DAY6’s April single left us no doubt that this has to be in everybody’s K-Pop summer playlist. It’s perfect for a road trip with friends – just like how DAY6 does it in their music video. It’s goofy and cute with YoungK’s aegyo tugging our heartstrings as a bonus. Oh, did we mention how amazing they sound when they harmonize?

Girls’ Generation

Who doesn’t love a good party? Let the ladies of Girls’ Generation how it’s done! Party is a bright and bubbly dance track that will let you get up and take over the dance floor. And if you ever need some summer fashion pegs, make sure to check out the music video!

Wouldn’t we all love to take a break from the daily grind this summer? No worries, because our January Artist of the Month, Seventeen, has got your back. The life of a K-Pop idol is exhausting, so when offered a vacation, they seem to no longer want to go back to reality.

Loving U

What is a summer K-Pop playlist without Sistar? Other than they’re #bodygoals, Sistar never fails to give summer bops such as I Swear and Touch My Body. Can you believe this song was released four years ago? We hope that Sistar’s comeback is just around the corner, because we can’t wait to add more of their songs in our playlist!

Really Really

WINNER’s much-anticipated comeback definitely did not disappoint. After a year and Nam Taehyun’s departure from the group, these boys from YG are back with a more slick and mature image. Really Really seems perfect to be played in a K-Pop La Boracay setting. Ready to dance? Learn through the WINNER’s dancers in this dance crew performance video!

Continuing our wish for a K-Pop La Boracay, K.A.R.D’s latest release, Rumor, seems to fit the tropical vibe like a glove. K.A.R.D seems to always have this chill factor in their songs, but at the same time, you would also want to sway your body along to the beat.

Girls’ Generation Taeyeon is on a roll with her solo comebacks with Make Me Love You as her latest release. While Make Me Love You is leaning more on the sentimental side, Why showcased more of her fun side. Try learning the dance as well!

Can you believe this how GOT7 looked like two years ago? Time surely flies, but is going down our list of bops for the summer.

While listening to this song, we could just imagine pool fights, water guns, and tidal waves. This song just screams summer with a delightful visuals by ASTRO to boot.

Hot Summer

f(x)’s Hot Summer is another one of those songs you cannot leave out for summer. Because obviously, summer will always be hot especially here in the Philippines.

Cheska considers herself a 24/7 writer as she writes professionally and voluntarily. Having the opportunity to join KStreetManila, she combines two of her loves – writing and Korean culture. Her Spotify playlist consists majority of GOT7, but she is willing to listen to other genres and artists.
