Former Produce 101 trainees Jeong Dongsu and Kim Namhyung will be coming back to the Philippines after being active in the highly popular idol-search reality program.
Originally members of K-Pop boy group OFFROAD, Dongsu and Namhyung, who have been performing as a duo named “AA” (previously “OHNOBRO”), are scheduled to return to the Philippines. They were here in 2016 for a fan meeting and mini-concert as well as special appearances in other local events.
On June 12, ShowBT Philippines announced that the two will have a meet and greet event on June 26, and a special hip-hop workshop on June 28 and 29. The meet and greet is said to be their way of thanking their Filipino fans who have been supporting them before and after joining Produce 101 Season 2.
Meanwhile, according to Namhyung and Dongsu’s entertainment company, SHow Entertainment, the two will be be judges at the 2017 Pinoy K-Pop Star and will hold a mini-concert, schedules which have been set even before Produce 101. The two, together with the other OFFROAD members, have been in the Philippines several times last year. Local organizer ShowBT Philippines has been hinting about their return in the country.
SHow Entertainment also allayed the concerns of many fans on the security concerns in the Philippines, especially with the declaration of martial law in Mindanao. SHow said that they will be doing their best to implement safety measures for the security of the two artists. Also, they decided to continue Dongsu and Namhyung’s activities as another big concert, Super PopCon, will be pushing through this July 7, implying that there should be no huge security problem in Manila.
