Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival set on September 9

The 26th Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival will be happening on September 9 at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.

With the theme “길(Road): We Go Together,” this free annual event aims to celebrate the strengthening bond between the Philippines and South Korea through a day of festivities and a cultural program. The festival will be divided into two parts. The first part is the “Annual Talent Competition” finals where Filipino participants will sing and dance to Korean songs while Koreans to Filipino songs. The competition will be hosted by Sam Oh and Richard Hwan.

The second part, which is the main program, will highlight the friendship between the Philippines and South Korea that started as a military collaboration and has turned into deeper forms of cooperation in trade, politics, security, and socio-cultural exchange. The relationship between the two countries will be entering its 70th year next year.

The Busan National Gugak Team and Serotonin will be showing Korean traditional performances. Ballet Manila will showcase Filipino culture while boy group OFFROAD will represent K-Pop.

The lobby will be filled with different cultural activities such as Nanta, Salmunorri, K-Pop displays, Korean street food section, sponsor produced, and a showcase of singers and dancers from competing teams.

The 26th Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival is hosted and organized by the United Korean Community Association (UKCA) together with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) and is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of the Philippines and Department of Tourism, It’s More Fun in the Philippines. The event is sponsored by BDO, Korea Tourism Organization in the Philippines, Tourism Board Philippines, Philippine Retirement Authority, Calla, Champion, and Hana Leaf together with the special participation of Arirang Town Philippines and the Philippine Kpop Convention, Inc.
