This Month’s Beat: SF9

The year 2018 hasn’t started yet, but we are already anticipating many idol groups to be coming in Manila to kick off the new year. The first idol group to grace our shores for 2018 is none other than our Artist of the Month, SF9!

Composed of Inseong, Youngbin, Jaeyoon, Dawon, Zuho, Rowoon, Taeyang, Hwiyoung, and Chani, the nine boys comprise of FNC Entertainment’s first dance group.

The group debuted on October 2016 with the single album Feeling Sensation. Its title track “Fanfare” is a mix of rap, hip-hop, and electronic genres. They also promoted the second song off the album, “K.O.”, a powerful song with catchy hooks, although what sets it apart is its opening “windmill” choreography.

SF9 made their comeback on February 2017 with the first mini album Burning Sensation. Its title track “Roar” showcases a fiercer, more intense side of the group. They show versatility, however, with their sweet ballad, “Still My Lady”, proving that while they’re a dance group, their vocals are something to be proud of as well.

Just two months after, they came back with their second mini album Breaking Sensation, its title track “Easy Love”, a breakup song that is guaranteed to make you feel sad things.

The group showed no signs of stopping when they came back on October 2017 with their third mini album Knights of the Sun. Its title track “O Sole Mio” departs from the genre of their past songs, mixing pop with Latin music.

SF9 will be coming to the Philippines for their “Be My Fantasy” fan meet on January 6, 2018. Tickets are available in all TicketWorld outlets and in their official Web site. Follow IME Philippines for details and additional updates on the event.
