PHILIPPINES DAEBAK! Filipino New Year celebration amuses Alexander Lee

Former U-Kiss member and K-Pop idol Xander, known in the Philippines as Alexander, shared on Twitter his amusement as he welcomed 2018 in the country.

In his tweet, he said that the Philippines’ celebration of new year is “the craziest” especially when compared to Korea where he grew up. He said that “the fireworks and everything is crazy” adding that the Philippines is “daebak” (“amazing” in Korean).

The Philippines is known for its “war-zone” like new year celebration with almost every Filipino setting off fireworks and firecrackers on the street. The government this year intensified firecracker regulations but still allowed fireworks displays in select areas.

Xander currently stars in GMA7’s Filipino-Korean romantic comedy series “My Korean Jagiya” with Heart Evangelista.

Looks like we’ve made another great impression on a K-Pop idol and we’re just starting the year! Happy 2018 everyone!
