A month ago, we had our Queen of All Media Kris Aquino admit that she had become a fan of BTS. Is another Filipino celebrity about to follow suit?
Broadway star and The Voice Philippines judge Lea Salonga was watching “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2018”, where BTS is part of the line-up.
Following the group’s performance, Lea tweeted:
Guys, who was that K-POP boy band on ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve??? Because, YAAAAAAAAS!!!!!

Filipino ARMYs were quick to supply Lea with more than enough information on the group, even creating threads to introduce her to BTS.
That was @BTS_twt po! May 7 members po sila: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, Jungkook. Sumasayaw po sila habang kumakanta and never nag li-lipsync! They train 12h+ a day. They also write and produced most of their songs, usually si RM at Suga nag tutulong mag produce.

Even The Voice Kids Philippines Season 1 winner, Darren Espanto, joined in on Lea’s replies.
THAT WAS BTS PO! 😭 THEY KILLED IT….AGAIN…

Twenty-four hours later, Lea tweeted, thanking the fans for her replies and that she’ll be looking up BTS on the Internet. Later, she admitted to fellow thespian Yanah Laurel over Facebook that she had caught herself in the “BTS rabbit hole” before she went to work.
Thanks for the BTS info! You may stop replying to my tweet now. The internet has whatever else I need.

As of this writing, Lea has not updated if she has become an ARMY, but there’s no denying BTS’ growing influence among celebrities.
