We’re months away towards the end of 2018, and yet the K-Pop events happening in the country don’t seem to stop. One of the groups coming to the country is none other than WINNER, who will be stopping by Manila for their 2018 “EVERYWHERE” Tour in Manila.

In 2013, Nam Taehyun, Kim Jinwoo, Lee Seunghoon, Song Minho, and Kang Seungyoon joined YG Entertainment’s reality show, WIN: Who is Next on MNet. The five then-trainees competed in the show as Team A and later became WINNER when they won the show, thus setting themselves up for debut.

The group officially debuted on August 6, 2014 through a debut showcase. Their album, 2014 S/S, was digitally released on August 12 and physically released on August 14. This contained the tracks “Empty” and “Color Ring.”

WINNER’s debut proved to be a hit. They took first place on M! Countdown after their debut stage, making them the fastest group to win on a music show at that time. In addition, the album charted at number one at Billboard’s Worlds Album Chart, and “Empty” achieved an “all-kill” status in Korea. Awards also started pouring in for WINNER as they bagged the Best New Artist at the 2014 MNet Asia Music Awards, New Artist of the Year at the 2015 Gaon Chart Music Awards, and Rookie Artist of the Year at the 2015 Golden Disc Award.

Despite a strong start following their debut, WINNER took a hiatus so that the members could pursue solo activities. Taehyun, Seungyoon, and Jinwoo took on several acting roles. Meanwhile, Mino competed on the fourth season of MNet’s rap contest Show Me the Money.

After more than a year, the group finally came back in February 2016 with the mini-album EXIT:E, which included the tracks “Baby Baby” and “Sentimental.” Both songs achieved an all-kill status on several music charts.

Following their comeback, the group held their first concert “WINNER Exit Tour in Seoul” in March. They then returned to Japan in June for their third tour in the country.

While all is good after their tour, it was announced on November that Taehyun would be taking a hiatus from the group. WINNER started their promotions as a four-member group during their comeback in 2017, with the single album Fate Number For. This includes the songs “Really Really” and “Fool.”

“Really Really” became their most successful song to date, surpassing the 100 million stream mark in December 2017. This makes WINNER the first male idol group in history to surpass 100 million streams. The song also did well in the international music scene, from Billboard World Digital Song Sales to Apple Music’s “Best of the Week” list.

Later on, WINNER came back with another single album Our Twenty Four, containing the singles “Love Me Love Me” and “Island.” Though not as successful as “Really Really”, “Love Me Love Me” was chosen by Dazed Digital as one of the 20 best K-Pop songs for that year.

WINNER started 2018 by releasing their second Japanese single, “Our Twenty Four” in February. They also started their fourth Japan Concert Tour.

On April, the group released their second studio album EVERYD4Y with the title track “Everyday.” And like their previous singles, this song earned the group the top spots on the three major music shows in Korea.

Excited to see WINNER? Catch them at their EVERYWHERE Tour in Manila on November 10 at SM Mall of Asia Arena. This event is powered by YG Entertainment, Live Nation Korea, PLDT Home Wifi, and PULP Live World. Tickets will go on sale on October 13 at all SM Ticket outlets.
