KPOPCON X to take place on March 3

The most awaited Philippine K-Pop Convention, or KPOPCON, is happening on March 3, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura!

The tenth installment of the convention was announced Sunday evening through the PKCI’s social media accounts. Watch the teaser below:

It will have the theme “By The Fans, For The Fans,” living up to the organization’s own tagline.

Contests and Fan Clubs

On January 21, the Philippine K-Pop Convention finally released the details and mechanics of their major contests: KPOP Dance Battle, KPOP Idol Look-A-Like, KPOP Kosplay, and KPOP Singing Star.

The KPOP Dance Battle is, as the name suggests, a competition among K-Pop cover dance groups. Participants must pass the auditions first wherein they will be judged based on choreography, execution, costume, and “stage presence.” The finalists will compete again at the 10th Philippine K-Pop Convention on March 3. Further details can be found here.

Another contest, the KPOP Idol Look-A-Like, is an online contest wherein individuals who look very similar to K-Pop idols share their photos which will be voted on online. The top four winners will be announced on February 21, participate in a photo shoot, and be awarded on the day of the convention. Further details can be found here.

Other contests include KPOP Kosplay where fans cosplay a KPop artist, whether group or solo, male or female and KPOP Singing Star, a singing contest, open to male and female individuals or groups.

The 10th Philippine K-Pop Awards will also be held on that day as well as “Kolors for Unity,” a PKCI special segment. Admission is at PHP 380 and available on the event day only.
