This month, KStreetManila is kicking off a new monthly column called, Style Switch! Every month, we help you dress up like our Artist of the Month (This Month’s Beat) in their latest single with of course, a little twist!
For the month of February, we focused on Monsta X for “This Month’s Beat”, and the boys are back – darker and fiercer than ever. Check out the music video for their title track, Alligator!
True to their group’s name, Monsta X has been known for their ferocity in many of their songs and music videos. To complement that, the boys are usually dressed in black and in leather. For Alligator, Monsta X’s stylists incorporated elements that are similar to an alligator’s skin. Moreover, some of the boys are decked in other animal-inspired prints.
Get the Look #1: Alligator Accent

For Monsta X’s comeback stage on M Countdown, the boys look crisp in white button downs and leather pants. Although subtle, the boys have specially made alligator-like shoulder accents.

(The ribbons on the sleeves gives off a feminine touch.)

For that little “oomph”, you can accessorize it with this mixed animal print crossbody bag from River Island.

Get that Look #2: Animal Prints
Other than (hopefully faux) alligator skin, Monsta X’s stylists seemed playful to include other animal prints such as leopard (on Hyungwon and I.M.) and houndstooth (on Shownu).

Get the Look #3: Leather and Lace
Monsta X’s resident style icon Wonho continues to break barriers in fashion with another unexpected look! In the music video, fans noticed that he wears a lace bodysuit underneath his leather jacket!

He even wore it in one of their comeback stages!
