Shopee Philippines maintains that a system error, not a change in promo mechanics, that caused the revocation of tickets of some BLACKPINK fans for the meet and greet last June 6.
In a statement released to media, Shopee claims that it did not change the date of the contest. An internal system error caused inaccuracies in the automatically generated winner list. As a result, they had to revoke 119 tickets that were wrongly issued.
Shopee also asserts that it did not revoke tickets from fans to give to celebrities and influencers.

Shopee came under fire for allegedly robbing Filipino Blinks of their chance to see BLACKPINK for the meet and greet. #ShopeeScam topped the Philippine and worldwide trends as a result.
The online retail store is working with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to give a full refund to the affected 119 users.
