2 Tutorials To Rock Taemin’s Signature Smokey Eye Look

It’s Lee Taemin day and we’re ready to celebrate!

One amazing thing about Taemin is his ability to transform from SHINee’s innocent maknae to everyone’s oppa as the soloist, TAEMIN. Taemin himself attributes part of his ability to deliver a solid concept how he styles himself. Let’s be clear, the SM idol is definitely not afraid to use makeup! So in honour of Lee Taemin’s birthday, we’re celebrating his fearless use of eyeshadow with two different eye makeup tutorials that you can try yourself!

TAEMIN EYE LOOK 1: SMOKESCREEN

This look requires a lot of good matte colors to achieve. This eye look is paired great with muted colors on the face and lips and will definitely give you an aura of danger. (Even if you’re actually a banana-milk-drinking softie on the inside)

  1. Start with a nude base.
  2. Add a smokey mauve eye shadow to the crease. This will be your transition.
  3. Using the same color, smoke this under the eye.
  4. Apply a matte gunmetal shade to the center of your lid, leave space a little under your crease as you will blend another color here.
  5. Use a matte plum or eggplant color to blend together the colors at your crease.
  6. Add a black pencil liner to your upper and lower waterline. Smudge the liner into your lids.
  7. Here is your final look! While I don’t curl my lashes for male kpop looks, you can take it a step further by curling and adding mascara to your lashes.

TAEMIN EYE LOOK 2: GLAM EYES

This look is definitely perfect shimmery smokey eye that is easier to achieve than it looks! This eye makeup look pairs great with peachy tones for your face and lips and screams glam chic.

  1. Start with a nude base.
  2. Add a matte rosy tan shade in your crease and blend. This will be your transition color to help blend darker colors to the rest of your eye.
  3. Use a matte reddish brown shade in the inner and outer V of your eyelid.
  4. With a satin silvery taupe color, apply the shade to the center of your lid.
  5. Take a fluffy dome brush and blend the colors lightly.
  6. Using the same rosy brown, smoke the shade on your lower lid.
  7. Dab a glitter shadow on the center of your eye with your finger. Here I used a greenish gold duo chrome shade from Colourpop.
  8. Line your upper and lower lash line with a black pencil.
  9. Here is your final look! While I don’t curl my lashes for male kpop looks, you can take it a step further by curling and adding mascara to your lashes.
