Have you met the “Pinoy BLACKPINK” yet?

What happens when Filipinos fuse Pinoy pop culture with K-Pop fandom culture? A lot of laughter and a ton of shade.

A thread about a “Pinoy BLACKPINK” is making rounds in Filipino Twitter-verse right now. And it isn’t just a simple thread—it’s a wholly crafted story and the effort is just hands-down amazing.

Japan-based Pinoy graphic artist Hansel Nueles, who is also a BLACKPINK fan, posted a thread about the debut of “ABS-CBN’s new girl group BLACKPINK” composed of Kim Chiu, Sarah Geronimo, Maja Salvador, and Bea Alonzo with the single “Kill This Love.” This may sound a little weird and confusing but if put in context, it would make a lot of sense—and tea.

Kim, Sarah, and Maja were ex-girlfriends of Filipino actor Gerald Anderson. Bea Alonzo, on the other hand, is his current girlfriend. However, yesterday, the internet blew up because of a break up scandal when Bea started liking Instagram photos linking Gerald to actress Julia Baretto. It’s quite a complicated story but a lot of details can be read here. Point is, people are assuming—and it is likely—that Bea and Gerald have already broken up.

BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” would definitely be very fitting for the news but now that we have four of Gerald’s exes, well guess what? We got the complete “girl group” for the song!

Now, going back to the thread. If thread efforts can be graded, it would get a triple A+.

Not only did Hansel give each “member” their individual profiles, there are also “news announcements” using edited photos that correspond to BLACKPINK’s real-life events! Remember the Jennie and Kai dating news? Well, we got Sarah and (EXO’s) Matteo, too!

The Pinoy “BLACKPINK” also got their “first win” on ASAP Natin ‘To. Congrats girls, we guess?

It’s a really long thread but it does not get tiring because the longer you scroll, the more entertaining it gets!

Oh boy, we would say this is one of the best things to have happened this week. What do you think of the thread? Was it a good laugh? Or a perfect sip of hot tea? Tell us in the comments section below!
