WATCH: Lee Dong Wook’s first visit to PH 13 years ago

Korean superstar Lee Dong Wook is coming back to Manila next month. Yes, coming back. Because he has been to the Philippines before!

Lee Dong Wook visited the Philippines back in 2006. Known for his role as Grim Reaper in the popular Korean drama and fantasy series “Goblin,” Lee came to the Philippines in June 2006 to promote his romantic comedy drama “My Girl.”

Lee appeared in a local noontime variety show, Wowowee! Ignoring that awkward moment when he seemed a little lost as he stood there while two Filipinos sing his drama’s opening theme, fans still took notice of how handsome (and of course, young) Lee Dong Wook has always looked. Lee also met fellow Korean artist Sandara Park who back then worked exclusively in the Philippine entertainment industry (Sandara would not be part of the K-Pop scene until three years later with 2NE1’s debut). The photo below was posted in an online community in 2006 with the caption “Sandara Park and Lee Dong Wook pictures from the Philippines.”

It’s been over ten years now since he last came to the Philippines so you surely shouldn’t miss his return! Catch Lee Dong Wook as he graces KTO Manila’s #LoveKOrea Culture & Travel Fiesta 2019 on October 5 at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall.
