Maja Salvador wins Best Actress at first Asia Contents Awards in Busan

Maja Salvador won the Best Actress Award at the first Asia Contents Awards in Busan, South Korea.

She was recognized for her role as Lily Cruz and Ivy Aguas in the hit 2017 teleserye “Wildflower.”

In an interview with ABS-CBN, Maja shared that the award was the best birthday gift she received. She celebrated her birthday last October 5.

“Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na parang bitbit mo ang buong Pilipinas, parang ang pakiramdam ko nanalo ako ng Miss Universe,” Maja shared.

(“It feels great to feel that you have the weight of the whole Philippines on your shoulders. I felt like I won Miss Universe.”)

Maja shares the award with Chinese actress Chen Yao for the drama All Is Well. She is the only Filipina nominated at the ceremonies.

Other awardees include Morita Misato (New Corner) and Takayuki Yamada (Best Actor) for the Japanese Netflix drama The Naked Director, as well as Kim Nam Gil for The Fiery Priest. Idol Kim Jae Joong also won the Excellence Award.

The Asia Contents Awards rewards the finest TV dramas produced over the past five years from Asia, including 10 ASEAN countries, China, Japan, and South Korea. It was recently launched by the Busan International Film Festival and the Asia Film Market to recognize outstanding TV series in the television industries across Asia.

A huge congratulations, Maja!
