K-Pop rookie idol group AB6IX presents first full album, gets MAMA nomination

The third quarter is such a great debut year for AB6IX! Not only did the K-Pop scene’s biggest rookie of 2019, AB6IX released their first official album but they also got three nominations at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards!

AB6IX is nominated in three categories: Best New Male Artist, Artist of the Year, and Worldwide Fans’ Vote. The awards night will be held on December 4.

 

Just weeks after featuring on global superstar Lizzo’s Billboard number one single, “Truth Hurts”, the five-membered boyband presented their brand new album “6IXENSE” on October 7 packed with  with 11 colorful tracks. The title of the album represents the group’s sixth-sense not only in the music but also in a connection with their fans, with a message of “no matter where you are, we are always connected”.

The title single “BLIND FOR LOVE”, produced by LEE DAE HWI, can be seen as the extension of their previous title single “BREATHE”, with more colorful elements in the deep house genera track. The song is about giving everything to the loved ones in the name of love. With LEE DAE HWI being the main producer of the project, other members also participated in the production of the album lyrics to songwriting. From Hip Hop, Dance to K-Pop genre, the album is packed with various sounds that represents the current musical direction of AB6IX.

Since the debut in May 2019, AB6IX traveled 10 cities globally with 6 solo fan meetings in Asia. The band has also achieved multiple number ones on Korean TV shows and global music services with the single ‘BREATHE’. With the release of “6IXENSE”, the group plans to expand their spectrum in the global K-Pop scene.
