The year 2019 was a year when Korean artists—idols and actors alike—decided to hold fan meetings in the Philippines to express their thank you to their fans.
And boy, did a lot of them come to the country. Almost every week, you’d find venues packed with fans ready to see their favorite artists.
At KStreetManila, we asked our team which fan meeting they’ll remember in 2019:

MOMOLAND proved in their fan meeting in Manila that they are more than just their hit songs. Thought they did perform their hit songs, the girls showed versatility by performing their B-sides that, by the way, should be recognized. They also surprised fans with a performance of Yeng Constantino’s “Salamat” as a way to thank Filipino Merries. – Bea

VAV’s Manila fan meeting holds a special place in my heart, from the pre-event activities to D-Day. Researching about VAV gave me a taste of their bops that I got more interested to meet them. During the press conference, I got to ask my questions personally, shake each member’s hand, and snap a groufie with them. It’s the first time really interacted with a Korean idol group—it was such an experience!
On the night of the fan meeting itself, VAV definitely impressed with their awesome live performance—stable vocals, sharp moves, and overflowing fan service! Photos and videos with the members? Thirty-second eye-contact? Getting serenaded right on stage? Lucky fans, indeed! Another memorable bit was when Lou, who lived in Cebu for four years, expressed how grateful he was for being able to return to the country as a K-Pop idol.
Needless to say, I’m a converted VAMPZ. – Mindy

This is the fan meeting that would half make you ask if you were in a fan meeting or a comedy bar because everyone was laughing at Lee Seung Gi’s brand of relatable banat and kalat. When you weren’t dying of laughter, you’d be making heart eyes at how he takes his craft seriously. – Clara

Park Hae Jin made a case as to why you should be marupok for him. We don’t remember whether any other actor also went down from the stage just to say “hello” to the fans. Besides, he sang “As Long As You Love Me” by Backstreet Boys. Our biased tita souls thought that automatically warrants a spot in this list! – Clara
