From Dancer to DJ: A Look at Hyoyeon’s Achievements

Debuting as the main dancer of the influential South Korean female act Girls’ Generation, Hyoyeon made her solo debut on December 1, 2016 with her song “Mystery.” It was well-received by her fans, so she came back with another power track titled “Wannabe.”

In April 2018, she returned to the music scene not as Hyoyeon but as DJ HYO with her track “SOBER.” She followed up with her recent release “BADSTER,” which both English and Korean tracks.

Later, she announced that she will be actively promoting as a DJ both in Korea and overseas.

Switching from being the main dancer of her successful group to being a sought-after club DJ, DJ HYO has been dominating the club show scene with her remarkable DJ sets and remixes of her group’s hit songs.

With her debut in the music club scene, she has been performing at the hottest clubs and the biggest music festivals. She has performed in Macao, Malaysia, Taipei, Cebu, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Shinjuku. Her most recent gig was at the Legacy Festival in Singapore’s Sentosa Siloso Beach.

Just after her DJ debut, she placed third among other famous DJs and 55th on 100 of the best DJANEs in the world.

She had made a name for herself in the DJing world and has collaborated with the famous DJ 3LAU for her song “PUNK RIGHT NOW,” which took the #1 spot in many countries and #47 in the whole world. Her song “BADSTER” also took the #1 spot, making her a powerhouse in the club show scene.
