Several Korean stars, actors and idols alike, have reached out to their Filipino fans and wished them safety after Taal Volcano erupted on January 12.
Some of the first Korean stars to express their prayers and support were actor and idol Kim Myungsoo who had his fan meeting in Manila on the day of the eruption.

The following day, Super Junior and UNICEF Regional Ambassador for East Asia & the Pacific Choi Siwon tweeted his wishes and prayers.

BTS V posted on WeVerse, the official fan community platform of Big Hit Entertainment artists, encouraging fans to pray for Filipino ARMYs. “My heart aches. I hope nobody is hurt and nature won’t hurt people anymore, really,” he said in his post.

Korean actor Park Seojoon also posted a “Pray for Taal” photo on his Instagram.
Meanwhile, 2NE1‘s Sandara Park posted her wish for everyone’s safety on Twitter.

Cherry Bullet member Haeyoon wished on Instagram that there will be no more damage following the eruption. Cherry Bullet recently returned to Korea after getting stranded in Manila.
Aside from Korean stars, Filipino idols from both K-Pop and P-Pop also expressed their prayer and support on their social media accounts. Z-POP members Carlyn (Z-GIRLS) and Josh (Z-BOYS), both currently in the Philippines, updated their fans and told them that they are both safe. Carlyn’s family lived near the volcano and assured them that she and her family are safe. The two reminded fans to be safe and to stay indoors.

SB19 also posted their wish for the victims’ safety and reminded everyone to wear protective masks and to avoid exposing the skin to the ash.
