WATCH: Macoy Dubs reminds people to “Hugas Hugas” a la Super Junior

Online dubber and meme-creator Mark Averilla, more popularly known as Macoy Dubs, created yet another funny but actually useful meme amid the rise of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines: a video reminder to frequently wash hands—to the tune of Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry”!

Writing his own lyrics and replacing that of “Sorry Sorry,” Macoy Dubs reminded people to wash their hands, have themselves checked if they feel unwell, and to avoid panic buying.

As of March 9, there are 20 recorded cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines. The Department of Health raised Code Red Sub-level 1 last March 7 followed by President Duterte’s declaration of state of public health emergency today. Local and national governments have intervened to prevent further infections through class suspensions and frequent reminders to wash hands, avoid crowded places, and use alcohol and sanitizers.
