MNL48 joins IZ*ONE under management Vernalossom, Inc.

P-Pop idol group MNL48 joins their Korean sister group, IZ*ONE, under talent agency Vernalossom, Inc.

Vernalossom, Inc. is previously AKS Co., Ltd., which managed one of Japan’s popular idol groups, AKB48, as well as its local and overseas sister groups.

The new name is a combination of the words “Vernal (related to spring)” and “Blossom” to mean “blooming in spring.”

On January 21, 2020, AKS announced the name change and added that it will withdraw its management of AKB48 and local sister groups HKT48 (Fukuoka) and NGT48 (Niigata). The three groups will be managed by three different, independent companies.

Vernalossom will be managing all of AKB48’s overseas sister groups, namely:

  • IZ*ONE (South Korea)
  • MNL48 (Manila, Philippines)
  • JKT48 (Jakarta, Indonesia)
  • BNK48 (Bangkok, Thailand)
  • AKB48 Team SH (Shanghai, China)
  • SGO48 (Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam)
  • AKB48 Team TP (Taipei, Taiwan)
  • CGM48 (Chiang Mai, Thailand)
  • DEL48 (Delhi, India)

The name change officially took effect on April 1.

IZ*ONE recently came back with their first studio album, BLOOM*IZ. Meanwhile, MNL48 is currently promoting their fifth single, “High Tension.”
