South Korea remains a widely popular tourist destination around the world.
According to a poll released by the country’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), the foreigner perception of South Korea as a tourist destination is 59% in 2019, a 1.1% increase from last year.
This is the sixth year in a row since 2014 that South Korea remains a popular tourist destination.
The poll was conducted from December 17 to January 6 on around 12,000 people in 20 countries aged 15 to 59.
Results showed that Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam were among the countries that favored South Korea as a tourist spot. Almost half of the respondents said they have watched videos promoting Korean tourism.
