13 F.T. Island Songs for Heartbroken Souls

Before F.T. Island (Five Treasure Island), idol bands were completely unheard of. It was either you were a K-Pop idol or you were a band.

In 2007, F.T.Island debuted under FNC Music (now FNC Entertainment). The band made waves in Korea and overseas, proving that idol bands can be successful too. Their success paved the way for artists like labelmates CNBLUE and N.Flying, as well as bands like The Rose and Day6.

With 13 years under their belt, F.T. Island has quite the repertoire of songs. However, let’s not kid ourselves. It’s the hugot anthems that have most likely stuck with Filipino Primadonna. Here are 13 songs that will likely bring on the feels. (List is in no particular order.)

1. Love Sick

Hugot-worthy line: “Breaking up is fast, but forgetting is hard. The love is painful, and I am hurt alone.”

Fun fact: The song was so iconic that it had a 2017 remake with soloist Kim Nayoung.

2. Severely

Hugot-worthy line: “Severely, I guess I loved you too severely. I think letting you go is more severe than dying.”

Fun fact: AOA’s Seolhyun is the lead actress in the music video.

3. Fade Out

Hugot-worthy line: “Love that I believed would never come again has crumbled down in one moment.”

Fun fact: AOA’s Yuna features in this song.

4. Hello Hello

Hugot-worthy line: “Now goodbye, goodbye. I keep trying to forget you, but I can’t.”

5. Missing You

Hugot-worthy line: “I’m missing you, missing you. Why did you have to say good-bye? Maybe this was the way that things were meant to be. I’m missing you.”

Fun fact: The song actually borrows from the first movement of Antonio Vivaldi’s “Winter,” the last concerto of “The Four Seasons”.

6. Love Love Love

Hugot-worthy line: “Please be happy after leaving me. Step by step, you are getting far away from me.”

Fun fact: Hongki sang a snippet of the song for his then on-screen wife Japanese-American actress Fuuji Mina on the global edition of “We Got Married”. (She cried while he was singing it.)

7. Because I Don’t Know How To Love

Hugot-worthy line: “Whoever you meet would be better than me, so I’m letting you go. Whoever I meet would not be as good as you, so I can’t erase you.”

8. Memory

Hugot-worthy line: “In my memory, I will erase your voice. In my memory, I will even erase your name. I think I have been in pain enough. Every time, I call out to you and break down.”

Fun fact: The album this was part of “Thanks To” was the first one to be entirely written and composed by the members.

9. Madly

Hugot-worthy line: “You’re the only one I madly miss. You’re the only one I miss to death. I try forcing you out, but there’s only you.”

10. One Minute, One Second

Hugot-worthy line: Even if you hurt my heart thousand, million times, I’m okay. I’m okay.

11. Bad Woman

Hugot-worthy line: Memories with you, this love of ours I’m now trying to erase them all.

12. Wind

Hugot-worthy line: “I need you I love you. My broken heart calls you. I love you always.”

Fun fact: This was released for their 10th-anniversary album “OVER 10 YEARS”.

13. Quit

Hugot-worthy line: “Promises that changed, faded times. Don’t ever say the word love to me ever again”

Fun fact: This is the first album the group released with the current lineup of Hongki, Jaejin, and Minhwan.
